Friday Night Sew-In, in the jungle

Image
I can't believe it has been over a week before I took the time to sit down and write a post. Thanks for the comments you have been leaving lately, I haven't had chance to reply yet (as I want to go and visit your blog at the same time!) but I will do soon. I am back very briefly after spending the last week or so, working on my jungle quilt that I want to give out tomorrow.  You can see the animals here  and here . I pieced the top at the week-end and put the 3 layers together on Monday night. Then I quilted every evening until yesterday. Finally tonight for the Friday Night Sew-In, I did sew the border in. This quilt is a present for my friend's son who is already 18 months. Since we are going over for his Christening at the week-end, I was determined to have it finished to hand it over. So now I have to finish hand sewing the border at the back which I should do tomorrow before putting a little label and it will be done! My first OPAM for this month! I am really proud I

Dear Jane Triangle

Image
Yes you read right I have finally picked up my Dear Jane and made one triangle. I had "abandoned" it since 2007 I am ashamed to say. So earlier this year I thought I would follow the TOW (Triangle Of the Week) on the Dear Jane mailing list. Well it didn't quite work that way but I drafted 2 triangles and a few months later, BR-9 Sue's Garden is finished and the second one is nearly done. I have even drafted another two. Let's see if I can complete 10 blocks or triangles this year! Celine

My jungle is growing...

I have managed to fuse 4 more animals yesterday and tonight: A tiger: A lion: A zebra: A giraffe: I only have the elephant to do now and then I can move to next phase. Celine

Another great giveaway

Head over to Jaybird quilts if you want to enter and try to win a lovely Jelly Cake... but competition is fierce. I'll show you my tiger and zebra tomorrow. Celine

Pictures from the week-end

If you have been reading my blog since I started it last year, you might remember the fabric I have been playing with from this post . Well I finally got the bag out and made a start on the baby quilt I wanted to give my friend's son. Didn't manage to make it by his first birthday, will I be able to hand it over on his Christening (less than 2 weeks now). I will surely try my best... On Saturday I went to my quilting group for my last day long monthly session. I cut all the fabric I needed for the pieced blocks and border and sewn all my 9-patch blocks. And yesterday, I played with Bondaweb and fabrics and "helped" by my two little ones, I managed to fuse 2 blocks. A bear: and a spotty monkey: 6 more animals to prepared before going on the "extreme" sewing phase. Bright colours again. Stay tuned for hopefully more progress report VERY shortly! Celine
