This week I have been concentrating on making some bubbles for the Bubble Bee from a pattern by Aylin . This is one quarter of my first bubble: and I have also tried to make progress on my nearly-finished UFO and Lazy Bums challenge of my You've got Mail wallhanging, another lovely pattern by Ayum i in Patchwork Please. Swap galore and teachers' gifts too

Image
There was lots on my list this month. First the children were breaking up for school on 17 July so I made some teachers' gifts. And even if every year I promise myself I will be organised and won't finish them just the night before....well it always end up being a mad rush the night before. So I made 3 open wide pouch from Noodle Head pattern and tutorial that the kiddies gifted to their teachers: This was my choice for A lovely Year of finishes I also made a pencil case to Big Boy who needed one for his roll-over day to Middle School. I used a pattern by Ayumills in her Patchwork Please book and lovely Diary of a Wimpy Kid fabric. He loved it! And then there were the swaps. Yes plural because I am a swap addict :-) and ended signing up for (too) many. The first to go out was the round 2 of It's so Kawaii swap. I don't know if my partner has received yet but I hope she liked it. I made a little embroidery from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, which I loved an

Yes I know I am part of many swaps and bees and occasionally I fall behind one month. So this month in between many other things, I have made a point to try and catch up, even more so as I have signed up for 2 more bees recently. I first finished an Hazel block for Jane after having trouble with her hair-do. I had nearly finished her when I realised her spikes were not all in the same directions :-( After much unpicking.... Hazel has gone The second block I have done for the stash bee was a pothole block for Nikki. I had trouble working out the instructions, getting confused between the lining and the linen but I finally made it! I also caught up with my hexie flowers, 2 yellow flowers for Simone for June  and also 2 ice cream flowers for Penny for July I finished my June Patchwork of the Cross block for the I love Lucy International bee I sent a little book to Liz  and a giant Charn Dash to Julie (I love her fabric choices) I also made a

A very happy finish

So I was nearly there last month to meet my deadline, and then I ran out of thread half way through the quilting. So I ordered another spool of thread and finished the quilting but it was too late for the gift giving. So I finished the quilting and added the binding by machine. There was a few hundred centimeters of binding to be hand sewn.... which I left for a few weeks. But then we were going home twice where there was a good occasion to finally gift my quilt to Mum so last week, over the course of 2 evenings, I sat down with my huge triangle quilt to finally bind it and give it away this week-end. So 322 triangles later, the quilt is finished, no longer a UFO and an OPAM for July. Linking to Whoop Whoop Friday  and that's my item 12 on Q3 Finish Along . Celine
