Of course, there was more baking again this week... but I have also managed some more blocks. First I caught up with the Project 48 quilt making blocks 6, 7 and 8 I also made Lantern for the Modern HST sampler I finished my bubble for Melody and also 2 more geese blocks I squeezed in 4 tiny blocks for the 365 challenge and 2 Farmer's Wife 1930 blocks: #37 Georgia #61 May with all the Y-seams.... And finally one more Hello Kitty block So that takes my total of blocks this month for 350-blocks challenge to 58! And today I made a cute little tiny Pixie Basket for my youngest so she can store her shopkins, one and the first OPAM this month. It is a leap year after all, let's see if I can still squeeze one or two before the end of tomorrow! Still playing with blocks

Another week-end, another birthday to celebrate and another baking marathon. This time it was for our youngest "official" birthday! She had a great time and was happy to have her special party too! And despite half term and the baking, I was happy to manage to squeeze some sewing... I made 10 more tiny 3.5' blocks for the 365 quilt challenge and I am still behind! Some were easy and fast, and some were very fiddly with tiny HST! I also finished my orange bubble for May, not my strongest colour! I also worked on my Lazy Bums geese, which are also on my list for the #100days challenge and I got 3 blocks done, 2 for May and 1 for Laurie. I also made my 2 film strips for Britta for Scandi Bee And I made some great progress on my blocks for the #hkqal as the first row is completed! So this is another productive week with an additional 22 blocks, taking my total this month to 44 so far! L inking to  Building Blocks Tuesday ,  Sew Cute Tuesday ,

Work in Progress, little stitches

Image
I have finished as much blocks last week as the week before but I have had some time for some hand sewing. And I have spent a large part of it stitching little crosses :-) And now I am so happy that I have caught up with January and February clues for the Pumpkin Passport Stitch Along going from London to Paris. Now I am ready to start sewing the Febuary frame of the Clouds Factory sampler! Linking to Needle and Thread Thursday . Celine

More baking, less sewing

This week-end was a birthday week-end for my middle daughter. We celebrated her birthday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so there was lots of planning and cooking involved and not much sewing time!   So this week has been productive in some ways but not so much on the sewing front. Admittedly, I have a number of blocks in progress, that I am really hoping to finish soon... but for now, I have picked an "abandoned" WIP and made 2 blocks for the Farmer's Wife 1930 Quilt-Along. I know you haven't seen any of those since probably October.... Anyway, here is Mrs Keller and of course the one I coldn't miss this week-end: Charlotte (with some horses of course!) And I also finished my 2 February flowers for Christine. With these additional 4 blocks, my total is now 22 for February for the 350-blocks project. An old UFO

A long time ago (in 2010), I ordered a Moda Scrap Bag and received a roll of strips from the Migration collection by Holly Taylor, probably long before the Jelly Rolls were popular with no much idea what to do with them. About the same time , I found an hexagon quilt-along organised by Julie of Jaybird Quilts. So I started sewing strips in pair, before cutting them in triangles and playing around with the layout as shown in her blocks. I finally finished the blocks and assembled the blocks into a top.... well in August 2013  because of a blog hop for hexagons. And at the time, I thought I would be able to quilt and finish it by the following month.... well no quite! And this flimsy laid around for nearly 2 years before it finally made it to the quilting frame last June, hurrah! And then it was just a matter of squaring hexagoning it off to add the binding on, which finally happened in January! Quilted with Aurifil 4650. This is the first of my Q1 F
